Rosies: The Women Who Riveted The Nation

Rosies receives grant from The Kentucky Foundation of Women.

Sommer Schoch and Amber Frangos will begin a week long workshop in July 2017 to further develop the play Rosies.  The play details the lives of four women working at the Willow Run manufacturing plant in Michigan during WWII.

Rose Abbott (Monroe) was one of the iconic women who posed as Rosie the Riveter in WWII war bond films.

I wanted to write this play because these Rosies had so much in common with today’s working women. They suffered the same sacrifices; shared the same types of successes as women of today.
